About Us
Welcome to Slow-Go Kennels. We are located in North Central West Virginia and specialize in AKC/AHBA Hunting Bassets. I have owned beagles for 10+ years and loved the breed as a companion, and It wasnt until 2003 that I started hunting them. In 2006 while looking for a new beagle I stumbled across the AHBA website. ( http://www.bassetnet.com/). I started reading about the field trials that the AHBA holds and I immediatey became interested. After reading more on rabbit hunting with basset hounds and talking to some "old timers" about how well bassets track the tricky cottontail I thought I would give it a try. Shortly there after, I attended the AHBA Tennessee state hunt and purchased two beautiful pups. From then on it has been a real treat owning, what I now consider my favorite breed. Nowadays I spend most of my free time hunting/training my hounds and trying to convince other rabbit hunters to give bassets a try.
